The Colin Currie Group was formed in 2006 for a performance of Steve Reich’s Drumming, and the work has been a central pillar of its repertoire ever since.

The recording was funded through a Kickstarter campaign – check it out for more background on the recording. Steve Reich has been extremely generous in his support of the project, saying;

“It will be, I am sure, the best recording of Drumming ever made.” The debut recording has already received a five-star review in The Times, stating “The album marks the debut of Colin Currie Records, a promising new outlet for the artistry and flair of Britain’s most adventurous percussion player.”
